Increased Medical-Legal Costs and Current QME Supply -- Impact of the 2021 Medical-Legal Fee Schedule (Research Update Report, Published June 2024)

A CWCI Research Update report extends prior measurements of the effect of the 2021 Med-Legal Fee Schedule on reimbursements for medical-legal evaluations and reports by using data through 2023 to compare payments made under the new fee schedule to payments made prior to the changes. 

The report also includes analyses of evaluation and report patterns, especially as they relate to supplemental reports, and assesses changes in the supply of QMEs and the number of QME panel requests.
